Braves Activate and Option Starter; Eligible to Be Activated in 15 Days

The Atlanta Braves have activated starter Mike Soroka from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Soroka is scheduled to make his fourth, and final, rehab start Friday with Triple-A Gwinnett. If that start goes well, Soroka will likely be activated by the Braves shortly after.

He is eligible to be recalled in 15 days which is September 16th.

During his rehab assignment, the twenty-five-year-old has posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts over 12 innings. He's made three starts.

Soroka could be a valuable addition for the Braves down the stretch, assuming all goes well in his rehab from here. The former All-Star in his rookie season has not pitched in a major league game in more than two years because of some serious Achilles problems. It's very impressive that he's been able to come all the way back from an injury that often derails many athletes' careers.
