Tampa Bay Rays Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Tampa Bay Rays have designated Jimmy Yacabonis for assignment.

Yacabonis was claimed off waivers by the Rays earlier this month, but he is heading right back there with this roster move. Yacabonis appeared in four games for the Rays, where he recorded a very rough 9.82 ERA.

Teams looking for a bit of pitching depth could elect to give Yacabonis a chance. Although he has had a rough time in the majors, he could be good to have around for insurance.
