Kansas City Royals Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Kansas City Royals have designated Joel Payamps for assignment.

Payamps has had a pretty solid year for Kansas City, so this development is a little surprising. In 29 games on the year, he has a 2-3 record to go along with a 3.16 ERA. Yet, that wasn't enough for him to maintain his spot on their 40-man roster.

It seems likely that another club will claim Payamps off waivers from here. Teams are always looking for bullpen help, and he can provide just that.
