Pittsburgh Pirates Claim Catcher

The Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed Jose Godoy off waivers from the Minnesota Twins.

Godoy has played in just two MLB games this season, where he has gone 0-for-3 at the plate. Over the course of his 18-game career, he has a .150 batting average, so he isn't regarded for his ability at the plate. However, he is more known for his solid fielding ability, and that will make him a decent backup for the Pirates.

Overall, with the Pirates near the bottom of the league standings, there's no harm in them taking a chance on Godoy from here.
