MLB Rumors: Red Sox To Make Multiple Trades

After starting the 2022 season with a 10-19 record, it's fair to say that the Boston Red Sox have been immensely disappointing. After making it to the ALCS last season, they've taken a monstrous step back. If they do not turn things around quickly, they will be sellers at the trade deadline. This, in turn, would lead to major changes to their roster.

The Red Sox have plenty of players who can become unrestricted free agents this offseason, so multiple trades could be on the way. One name who stands out of course is Xander Bogaerts. Yet, because he has a no-trade clause, a move centering around the star shortstop isn't a guarantee. However, several other players also have expiring contracts.

Other players who can become free agents from their roster include Chris Sale (player option), J.D. Martinez, Nathan Eovaldi, Jackie Bradley Jr., Enrique Hernandez, Michael Wacha, Rich Hill, Christian Vazquez, and Kevin Plawecki. Thus, if the Red Sox do not turn things around shortly, expect to see a lot of trades this summer.
