Diamondbacks Outfielder Designated For Assignment

The Arizona Diamondbacks have designed Stuart Fairchild for assignment.

Fairchild has not gotten into any major league action this season. Instead, he played in his first 12 career games last season with the Diamondbacks. In them, he wasn't necessarily dominant, as he had just two hits in 15 at-bats. With that, he had a very low .133 batting average.

In 37 at-bats this season with the Reno Aces, Fairchild has also struggled, as he has a .162 batting average to go along with two home runs and three RBIs. It will be intriguing to see if another team decides to claim him, though. He is still just 26 years old, so he does have room for growth. Nevertheless, time will tell what happens with Fairchild from here.
