MLB Rumors: Mets Interested In Veteran Pitcher

According to Jon Heyman, the New York Mets are expressing interest in Tony Watson.

The Mets certainly could use another left-handed pitcher in their bullpen, so it makes sense that they are viewing Watson as a potential option for them. The veteran reliever has the potential to provide them with more dependability.

In 62 appearances between the Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Giants last season, Watson had a 7-4 record and 3.92 ERA. However, it was with San Francisco where he had more success, as he only sported a 2.96 ERA. That is the kind of stuff he will be aiming to bring to the next team he signs with.

It will be interesting to see if the Mets step up their efforts to sign Watson from here. When looking at how much they improved their roster this season, it would be wise for them to make one more addition to their bullpen.
