MLB Rumors: Diamondbacks And Infielder Having Extension Talks

According to Robert Murray, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Ketel Marte are currently engaging in extension talks.

It makes sense that the Diamondbacks are hoping to lock up Marte. He is coming off of another very good season and has plenty of time left in his prime. In 90 games during the 2021 season, he had 14 home runs, 50 RBIs, and a .318 batting average. Thus, he certainly was a big threat at the plate and should continue to be for years to come.

In 681 career games between the Seattle Mariners and D-Backs, Marte has 70 home runs, 286 RBIs, and a .287 batting average. With that, he also was an All-Star during the 2019 campaign, too.

It will be interesting to see if the Diamondbacks are able to lock up Marte soon. If so, it would be a big win for the franchise, as he has become their top player.
