Pablo Sandoval Has A New Home

Aside from having one of the best baseball nicknames ever, Pablo Sandoval--aka Kung Fu Panda--was known for winning 3 World Series rings with the San Francisco Giants and a 4th with Atlanta. He spent 14 years in the big leagues, but his next chapter in baseball will be in the Mexican League.

Sandoval Has signed with the Steelers of Monclova, according to the team's website. Here's how the announcement translates:

"One of the spectacular contracts for Mexican baseball lands today, with a stellar career in the Major Leagues where just last year he was part of the Atlanta Braves Champions, Pablo Sandoval will take his game to the entire territory of the Mexican League as part of the Steelers of Monclova."

The Venezuelan-born Sandoval leaves the big leagues with a career .278 batting average, and a .773 OPS. He was a 2-time All-Star, in 2011 and 2012. But the postseason was where he really left his mark.

Panda helped lead the Giants to three World Series in 2010, 2012 and 2014. He was the 2012 World Series MVP, which included a 3-HR game, and overall batted .338 with an OPS of .921 in the postseason.

He was also a member of the 2021 Atlanta Braves, though he didn't appear in the World Series.
