Dodgers Manager Comments on Future in LA

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is one of the most beloved managers in all of baseball. His players love playing for him, he's a pleasure to deal with in the media and he's hopeful to be wearing Dodger blue for a long, long time.

Roberts recently commented on his looming contract negotiations which are expected to take place in the very near future with president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman. Roberts went as far to say "it'll get done" and isn't worried about the process one bit.

The manager's contract is set to expire at the end of the 2022 season and he thinks there's still tons of unfinished business to accomplish with his ball club:

When I stop loving my job, then I'll have no problem walking away. Regardless. Yes, winning a championship, another championship and more, is the goal. But for me, I know that it gives the Dodgers the best chance to do that if I do my job with complete passion, conviction, and commitment. If I can do that, I think, on my end of things, that helps us get to where we want to get to. If I feel like I can't do that and deliver that, it's time for me to move on.

How do you not extend someone with a career 524-329 record in six seasons? There's no doubt this deal gets done and expect it to be for roughly five more seasons. The 49-year-old Roberts has won five division titles and has helped get the Dodgers to three World Series, including 2020 when they won it all. Dodgers nation can expect an announcement to come sometime before first pitch of the season opener.
