Video: Arozarena Historic as Rays Beat Red Sox to Open ALDS

The Tampa Bay Rays were carried by Randy Arozarena on Thursday night as the opened up the ALDS against the Boston Red Sox. The Rays talent did it all including a historic steal of home, the first player to do so in a postseason game since Jackie Robinson in 1955.

Arozarena became the first person in MLB history to hit a home run and steal home in the same playoff game, as the Rays defeated the Bo Sox 5-0. Arozarena met with the media after the game and said this through a translator:

I noticed the pitcher kind of wasn’t keeping attention to me. I was able to take a big enough lead and take that base. That’s the first time I’ve ever stolen home

The 26-year-old rookie shined last postseason in his coming out party. He then hit 10 HR's in 20 games, and looks like he's carrying over the momentum into this year's playoffs. The Rays take game one in the best-of-five series. Game 2 goes Friday with Chris Sale chucking for the Red Sox and rookie Shane Baz takes the bump for the leading Rays.
