Colorado Rockies Sign Pitcher To Extension
According to Jeff Passan, the Colorado Rockies have signed pitcher Antonio Senzatela to a five-year, $50.5 million extension. The 2027 season will also carry a club option.
In 28 games this season with the Rockies, Senzatela had a 4-10 record and 4.42 ERA. During the 2020 season, he looked quite well in limited action. In 12 starts, he had a 5-3 record and 3.44 ERA. If he can continue to have seasons like that one, this could end up being a very solid contract for the Rockies.Right-hander Antonio Senzatela and the Colorado Rockies are in agreement on a five-year, $50.5 million contract extension, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.

At just 26 years old, there is reason to believe that fans may not have seen the best of Senzatela yet. Still, even with this potentially being so, this is a huge payday for him and it was a bit of an unexpected deal.
In 124 games with the Rockies over five seasons thus far, Senzatela has a 36-25 record and 4.84 ERA.
Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see how he performs under his new contract with the Rockies.
