Jack Morris Does Racist Asian Accent During Shohei Ohtani At-Bat
Jack Morris has gotten himself into hot water with comments made on-air during an at-bat by Shohei Ohtani in Tuesday night's Tigers/Angels game.
When play-by-play announcer Matt Shepard asked Morris what to do with Ohtani in a dangerous situation, he responded with "be very, very careful" in an Asian accent.

Well sure looks like it’s time for the bi-annual firing in the @Tigers TV booth as Jack Morris 1) does some kind of mocking Asian accent while describing Ohtani; and 2) issues a pathetic “sorry if YOU were offended” non-apology apology #HitTheRoadJack pic.twitter.com/qwWk0pjKoG

Quick cheat sheet for any announcers calling Shohei Ohtani's games. It's not that complex!

Later in the game, Morris made an "apology" prior to Ohtani's at-bat, saying:
Well folks, Shohei Ohtani is coming to the plate and it's been brought to my attention, and I sincerely apologize if I offended anybody, especially anybody in the Asian community for what I said about pitching and being careful to Shohei Ohtani. I did not intend for any offensive thing and I apologize if I did. I certainly respect and have the utmost respect for this guy and don't blame a pitcher for walking him.
Apparently, some people who have been defending Morris thought that he was using an Elmer Fudd accent. Safe to say with Ohtani coming to the plate - that's simply not the case.
