After singling in the bottom of the 6th, a ground ball to third by George Springer and an error on the throw had Guerrero charging in for an awkward slide into third base, which caused him to be kneed in the head. But another throwing error across the diamond led to Vladdy popping to his feet and trotting home to score a run, though he was in obvious pain. He did not come out for defense in the top of the 7th.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is going through testing under concussion protocol.

John Schneider said Guerrero had a bit of a headache. #BlueJays
Manager John Schneider said Guerrero was experiencing headache symptoms.
The Blue Jays, in defeating the NY Yankees 3-1, are now just one game out of a Wild Card spot (2 games in the loss column), after both the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers lost Friday night. Another injury is not something the Jays can afford at this point, so they'll be hoping that Guerrero returns in short order.
Toronto has won 10 of their last 15 games to put themselves back in the playoff hunt.
