The Baltimore Orioles have traded pending free agent outfielder Taylor Ward to the Seattle Mariners.

The Mariners had been looking to add another bat to their outfield, and according to MLB Network’s Jim Bowden, they will be pulling Randy Arozarena off the market, in addition to pulling back pitcher George Kirby from the trade block. But they are still in the market for some bullpen help.

Ward has shown a fair bit of power over the previous few seasons, but while that has dried up this year, his on-base skills (.383 OBP) have him on pace for a career-high in runs.

He is a free agent after the 2026 campaign, so he's a pure rental for the M’s. Arozarena will also be a free agent after the season.

The Orioles get a trio in return, reliever Alex Hoppe, and prospects Brock Moore and Harrison Kreiling.
