MLB Trade Rumors: Ex-GM Proposes Angels Deal To Send Jo Adell To Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies are still looking for an outfield upgrade. They badly need a corner outfielder after losing Adolis Garcia for the season. And the LA Angels could finally be sellers this year with GM Perry Minasian fired, and the reins off.
That leaves us with a trade proposal to consider, coming from former MLB general manager Jim Bowden, on the GM Territory podcast.

Bowden's proposal looks like this:
Philadelphia Phillies receive:
- Jo Adell, OF
Los Angeles Angels receive:
- Dante Nori, OF (Phillies #5 prospect)
- Ramon Marquez, RHP (#9 prospect)
- Gabe Craig, RHP (#23 prospect)
With a new head of baseball operations, John Mozeliak, Bowden feels that the Angels will "maybe be more open to trading their assets."
For Adell, he still has another year of team control after this season, and would bring a power bat to the Phillies outfield. He launched 37 homers last season, and while he's off to a slower first half this year, with 11 long balls thus far, according to the analytics, he'd have seven more homers at Citizen Bank ballpark than he does with the Angels. He has two HR in his four games there in his career.

For the Angels, they get a very nice prospect package. Nori is a 5-foot-9 sparkplug, a left-handed hitter who knows how to put the ball in play and get on base. He swiped 52 bases at three minor league levels last year, with a .360 on-base pct. He could be big league ready by later next season.
Marquez is looking like a breakout arm this season in Single-A Ball. He has a 1.86 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP with a dominating 14.6 strikeouts per nine innings. He had five no-hit innings in his High-A debut, utilizing a nasty changeup.
This would seem to be a win-win for both teams.
