MLB Rumors: Tigers Linked to Trade for Astros Star Infielder
After a shaky start to the 2026 season, the Detroit Tigers have been heating up big time. The Tigers have won each of their last six games and now have a 10-9 record because of it.
With the Tigers getting hot, it would not be surprising in the slightest if they looked to add to their roster. One of their biggest needs is another impactful infielder, and they are now being linked to one of the top trade candidates in the league because of it.
In a recent article for Sports Illustrated, Patrick McAvoy named the Tigers as a potential landing spot for Houston Astros star infielder Isaac Paredes.
When looking at the Tigers' current roster, there is no question that Paredes would be an excellent addition for them. He would give them another star to work with in the front half of their lineup, which would certainly be a good thing for a Tigers club that is looking to be one of the top teams in the AL this campaign.
Paredes is also a player the Tigers already know, as he played his first two major league seasons for them before being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays.
In 102 games last season for the Astros, Paredes had 20 home runs, 53 RBIs, and a .254 batting average. With numbers like these, the two-time All-Star would be a nice addition to the Tigers' roster if acquired.
