MLB Rumors: Ex-Mets Jesse Winker Linked to NL West Team
While we are now in the middle of April, there are still some notable free agents looking for their new homes. One of them is Jesse Winker, as the 32-year-old is still on the market.
Winker was limited to only 26 games during this past season with the New York Mets, where he had one home run, 10 RBIs, and a .229 batting average. While he had a quiet 2025 season, it would not be surprising if a team took a chance on him due to his past success. Because of this, the one-time All-Star is now being linked to a team in the NL West.
In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Zachary D. Rymer named the San Francisco Giants as a potential landing spot for Winker.
When looking at the Giants' current roster, it is fair to argue that they could use another player who can play in the outfield. Because of this, it would make sense if they took a chance on Winker through a short-term deal.
At a minimum, Winker would give the Giants another solid depth player with experience, which would not be a bad thing at all for San Francisco. Furthermore, when noting that he had 14 home runs and 58 RBIs in 145 games just back in 2024, the potential for him to bounce back on a team like the Giants is there.
