Breaking: Jurickson Profar Suspended For Entire 2026 Season
Once bitten, twice shy? That's apparently not a proverb that Jurickson Profar lives by. After sitting out an 80-game ban last year for performance enhancing drugs, the Atlanta Braves outfielder has AGAIN been caught with an illegal substance in his system. And this time, it's a 162-game ban.

Profar had signed a three-year, $42 million contract last January with the Braves, but after losing out on about $8M last year for his 80-game suspension, he just couldn't resist going for the juice again, and now it's costing him even larger coin. He'll be out $15 million for this season.
The 33-year-old is the sixth player to receive a second-offender ban of 162-games.
After his suspension for his first PED crime last March, the 12-year veteran said, "It is because of my deep love and respect for this game that I would never knowingly do anything to cheat it."
Uh huh.
The left fielder/DH came back from his suspension last year in July, and slashed .245/.353/.434 with a .787 OPS, 14 home runs and 43 RBIs. This year, his line will be .000/.000/.000.
He still has one year and $15 million remaining on his contract. One would think the Braves may make an attempt to void it. The MLBPA would fight that, however. It would be a shame if Profar ever gets the privilege of suiting up in a major league uniform again.
The other five players who have tested positive twice and been banned for a full 162, are J.C. Mejia (2023), Robinson Cano (2020), Francis Martes (2020), Marlon Byrd (2016) and Jenrry Mejia (2015). The latter actually tested positive for a third time, believe it or not, and is the only player banned for life under the MLB's strict three-strikes-yer-out policy on PEDs.
