TRADE: Twins & Dodgers Complete Trade

The Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Dodgers linked up on a quick, clean bullpen swap, with Minnesota acquiring left-hander Anthony Banda in exchange for international bonus pool money.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Twins designated right-hander Jackson Kowar for assignment.

Twins add Anthony Banda to reshape their bullpen

For the Twins, Banda fits the exact profile they have been collecting lately: a real big-league arm with recent leverage experience who is not going to crater the payroll.

He was a key part of the Dodgers’ relief mix over the last two seasons, posting a 3.14 ERA across 2024 and 2025 while working heavy volume and picking up postseason reps on two title teams.

Banda had bounced around the league a lot before signing with the Dodgers, recording a poor 6.68 ERA, 2.08 WHIP, with 36 strikeouts across 33.2 innings and 42 appearances from 2022-23.

Dodgers cash in roster flexibility with a bonus-pool return

Banda had been designated for assignment after Los Angeles claimed catcher Ben Rortvedt, and the club flipped that squeeze into international bonus pool money rather than risking losing Banda for nothing.

For his nine-year career, Banda holds a 4.44 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, with 220 strikeouts over 233.1 innings and 209 appearances.
