MLB Trade: Yankees & Rockies Pull Off One-for-One Deal
Needless to say, this likely won't go down as the most impactful move of the off-season in the Bronx, but the New York Yankees have swung a deal with the Colorado Rockies to bring in a reliever who posted a 7.06 ERA last season.

The Yankees get hard-throwing right-hander Chivilli in return for their No. 22 prospect, first baseman T.J. Rumfield.
Despite the 7.06 ERA, the Yankees obviously see upside in the arm of Chivilli, once he gets out of the mile-high air of Coors Field.
According to the New York Post, it's Chivilli's elite velocity, as well as his swing-and-miss stuff and ability to get ground balls that intrigues the Yanks. He will compete for a spot in their bullpen.
The Yankees' pen is headed up by David Bednar, with Fernando Cruz, Camilo Doval and lefty Tim Hill behind him.
The 25-year-old Rumfield had a fine season at AAA for the Yankees in 2025, leading some to believe he could actually challenge for the first base job in Colorado for the 2026 season. The Rockies have an opening, as they non-tendered 1B Michael Toglia back in November.
Rumfield has a .271/.365/.431 in five minor league seasons.
Rockies also acquire former Twins infielder
In another trade, the Rockies also acquired infielder Edouard Julien and right-handed pitcher Pierson Ohl from the Twins on Wednesday, in exchange for minor league right-hander Jace Kaminska and cash considerations.
Julien finished seventh in AL Rookie of the Year balloting in 2023.
