MLB Trade Rumors: Dodgers Poised to Add Yet ANOTHER All-Star in Tentative Trade

When is enough, enough? That's what baseball fans were already asking after the two-time World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers added the top free agent hitter in Kyle Tucker this past week, to go with the top free agent closer in Edwin Diaz they signed earlier this offseason.

Now, they're "strongly pushing" for top starting pitching trade target, Freddy Peralta.

Insider Hector Gomez writes that "talks are becoming increasingly intense" between the Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Peralta, an All-Star and the Brewers ace, is heading into the final year of his contract at a very reasonable $8M AAV. The Brew Crew will likely not be able to pay up for the amount that Peralta will be able to command on the free agent market next winter (probably four times that annual stipend on a long-term deal), so the idea is to capitalize now with the pitcher's value at an all-time high.
And the Dodgers are ready and willing to accommodate.

Dodgers can offer Brewers more than any other team in Peralta trade

LA is recognized as having the best farm system in baseball. They excel at developing talent, particularly pitchers, and possess significant depth with multiple Top 100 prospects. They will be able to give the Brewers a nice haul in return for the 29-year-old ace.

Peralta finished 2025 with career bests in wins (17) and ERA (2.70), while surpassing 200 strikeouts for the third straight year. He finished 5th in NL Cy Young balloting.

The Dodgers' rotation already consists of an embarrassment of riches, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Roki Sasaki. Adding Peralta might give them the best rotation the sport has ever seen.
We have heard, however, over the course of the offseason, that Glasnow might be a name that they'd consider sending back in a big trade package.
