MLB Rumors: Dodgers Exploring Tesocar Hernandez Trade
Despite powering their back-to-back World Series runs with eight postseason home runs in two years, Hernandez's defensive decline has pushed the Dodgers to consider all options.
League insiders report his name is surfacing in conversations, even if Los Angeles views a deal as unlikely at this stage.
Teoscar Hernandez’s name has come up in trade talks, per @Ken_Rosenthal

Why the Dodgers Are Open to Moving Hernandez
Hernandez's bat remains valuable, but his glove continues trending the wrong direction. In 2025 he ranked near the bottom of MLB outfielders with a minus-9 Outs Above Average, a major factor in the Dodgers finishing just 18th in team outfield defense.
With Shohei Ohtani locked in at DH, Los Angeles has little flexibility to shelter Hernandez's defense. Trading him could free space and salary while allowing Andy Pages to take over in right field, which would be an upgrade defensively and a promising bat entering 2026.
Teams have brought up Teoscar Hernandez during trade discussions with the Dodgers, according to @Ken_Rosenthal and @PJ_Mooney.

Moving Teo is reportedly unlikely, which makes sense when you look at how he's contributed the last two years:

Possible Trade Paths for Los Angeles
If the Dodgers pursue a Hernandez trade, they could target outfielders such as Boston’s Jarren Duran or Wilyer Abreu. They’ve also monitored Byron Buxton and previously explored left fielder Steven Kwan.
A deal wouldn’t necessarily signal a push for mega-free agent Kyle Tucker, but it would open roster pathways for the two-time champions.
