Matt Chapman Suspended After Wild Brawl
A first inning home run led to a wild dugout-clearing brawl in Coors Field Tuesday night, and MLB has laid down its punishment. San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman is the only player to be suspended, and it's a one-game ban.
Rockies starter Kyle Freeland was not happy with the way that Giants slugger Rafael Devers stood and admired his mammoth blast with no outs in the first, and they began to exchange words. That's when things spiralled out of control.

Chapman was suspended and fined for shoving Freeland in the fracas that ensued. Chapman, Freeland and Willy Adames were ejected and also received fines, but were not suspended.
Freeland dropped to 3-14 on the season after facing just two batters in a 7-4 Rockies loss to the Giants. It was the 100th defeat of the season for the Rockies. For San Francisco, it was their 9th win in 10 games, putting them over the .500 mark for the first time in nearly a month.
As for Chapman, not only is he appealing his suspension, but he also decided to take out his frustrations on the very first pitch he saw on Wednesday night in the rematch between the teams:
