Breaking: Charlie Morton, Days After DFA, Finds a Familiar Home

Just days after being designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers, 41-year-old Charlie Morton has landed back on his feet, and back in a very familiar place, with the Atlanta Braves.

It's unknown yet if Morton will take the mound during the final week of the season in his third stint with the team, but as noted by beat writer Mark Bowman, this pick-up does create the chance for Morton to retire with the Braves, the team that drafted him way back in 2002 and after a long and storied career, with whom he won a World Series (2021) during a four year stay earlier this decade.

More to come...
