MLB Trade Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Adolis Garcia
As a two-time All-Star, and an intriguing combination of immense power and speed, Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is becoming an attractive trade candidate as we get closer to the deadline at the end of the month.
Per Ken Rosenthal in The Athletic, "Considering the dearth of quality right-handed hitters likely to be available, (Garcia) could emerge as a rather interesting trade candidate."
The 32-year-old is struggling to hit the ball for the second straight season, but as recently as 2023, he was an All-Star, as well as the ALCS MVP. He averaged 30 home runs a year from 2021 through 2024. With another year of team control, teams could be intrigued.
3 potential landing spots for Garcia at the trade deadline:
Seattle Mariners
They could always use some added offense to go with their stellar pitching staff. With right field currently being manned by the unproven and unheralded Dominic Canzone, if Garcia could come in and find his groove, he would be a huge addition.
Cleveland Guardians
The Guardians are 29th in baseball in home runs and OPS from their right fielders, and 28th overall in slugging and OPS. With the team desperately trying to stay within shouting distance of the Wild Card chase, there might not be a better fit for Garcia than Cleveland.
Philadelphia Phillies
Although Nick Castellanos is having a fine year in right field, the rest of the Phillies outfield is nothing to write home about. Garcia, with 30-HR power, would be a help as they battle tooth and nail with the NY Mets for top spot in the NL East.
