Cubs Target Suarez, McMahon in Search for Third Base Upgrade
The Cubs, sitting at 60-41 and trailing the Milwaukee Brewers by a single game, are clearly in win-now mode. After landing Kyle Tucker in a blockbuster deal, they’re looking to build around their current core with another offensive jolt. Rookie Matt Shaw has struggled at third, batting just .216, which makes Suarez an enticing target despite defensive concerns. If Arizona’s asking price is too high, McMahon offers versatility and a lefty bat that could platoon with Shaw, though his .711 OPS is modest by comparison.
According to ESPN, the #Rockies are gaining more and more interest from teams looking for infield help.

Ryan McMahon’s 8 year career in Colorado, could be coming to an end.

Both options present risks and rewards, and the Cubs may ultimately need Colorado to eat salary if they go the McMahon route.
