MLB Rumors: Most Likely Trade Candidate Named For Dodgers

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts walks onto the field during 2025 game.

With the 2025 MLB trade deadline approaching, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller has identified right-handed pitching prospect Nick Frasso as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ most likely trade candidate

Despite the club’s strong 32-19 record and a firm grip on the NL West, injuries have ravaged their pitching staff and reshaped potential deadline plans — including who might be expendable.

Frasso, currently with Triple-A Oklahoma City, is the Dodgers’ No. 12-ranked prospect and is finally building back up after missing all of 2024 due to shoulder surgery. He’s thrown over 80 pitches in back-to-back outings, signaling physical readiness for a potential MLB debut. But as Miller notes, whether he still has the upside to stick in L.A.’s deep rotation is “questionable at best,” making him a prime candidate to move if the Dodgers swing a deal for outfield help or bullpen support.

Frasso a Key Piece in Potential Dodgers-Orioles Trade Talks

One trade scenario gaining traction involves Cedric Mullins of the Baltimore Orioles, another player Miller listed as a likely trade candidate. With Mullins offering power, speed, and defensive stability — and the Orioles falling out of contention — a swap involving Frasso and outfielder James Outman has been floated by analysts.

Outman, once viewed as part of the Dodgers’ long-term outfield plans, has struggled to find consistency at the plate in 2025. With Andy Pages now in center and Michael Conforto underperforming, adding a bat like Mullins could help L.A. tighten up their weakest lineup spot. Frasso, meanwhile, could appeal to Baltimore as a high-upside arm still on the rise.
