Atlanta Braves Sign 2021 NLCS Hero

Los Angeles Dodgers Outfielder Eddie Rosario swings at baseball during 2025 game.

The Atlanta Braves made a nostalgic move on Monday, bringing back 2021 NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario on a Major League deal.

To make room, the team optioned outfielder Jarred Kelenic to Triple-A Gwinnett after his early season struggles continued.

Rosario, who played a huge role in Atlanta’s 2021 World Series run, returns for a third stint after a brief stop with the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this year. The 33-year-old is expected to add depth and energy to the Braves' outfield rotation.

Eddie Rosario Returns to Atlanta Hoping to Spark the Offense
Rosario’s legend in Atlanta was cemented when he torched the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2021 NLCS, hitting .560 with three home runs and nine RBIs.

Although his most recent stint with the Dodgers was short-lived — tallying just one hit in four plate appearances — the Braves are betting on his postseason magic and experience to help steady a roster dealing with injuries and inconsistencies.

Brian Snitker praised Rosario’s professionalism and said his familiarity with the team’s clubhouse was an easy fit as they look to turn their 12-15 record around.

Jarred Kelenic Sent to Gwinnett After Struggles Continue
Meanwhile, Jarred Kelenic’s time in Atlanta hits a pause.

Once a top prospect, Kelenic slashed just .167 with a .531 OPS over 23 games this season and recently stirred controversy for a lack of hustle on the basepaths. With Ronald Acuña Jr.'s return from injury looming, Rosario is likely a temporary reinforcement, but Braves fans will no doubt welcome the return of a postseason hero who once helped deliver a championship.
