Toronto Blue Jays Place Pitcher Acquired In Trade On Waivers

The Toronto Blue Jays have made some notable roster adjustments, prominently marked by the designation of pitcher Mitch White for assignment.

Acquired with promise from the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022, White's tenure with the Jays proved to be a struggle, characterized by inconsistent performances that fell short of expectations.

Despite flashes of potential, his recent downturn prompted the team's decision to remove him from the roster.

During his time with the Blue Jays, the 29-year-old posted a brutal 7.26 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, with 50 strikeouts across 65.2 innings and 24 appearances.

White's departure opens up avenues for the return of key pitchers from the injured list, particularly Jordan Romano and Erik Swanson, both pivotal figures in the Jays' bullpen. Romano, having served as the team's closer with consistent success, and Swanson, providing additional depth in pitching options, offer much-needed reinforcements to bolster the team's relief corps.

Before he was acquired by the Blue Jays, White compiled a solid 3.58 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, with 98 strikeouts over 105.2 innings and 38 appearances with the Dodgers.

As the Blue Jays navigate these roster adjustments, attention shifts to White's potential trajectory following his designation. While his past promise and resurgence in Triple-A may attract interest, his current struggles have left his future uncertain.
