New York Yankees Add Former Top Prospect & 12th Overall Pick

The New York Yankees have recently bolstered their infield depth by claiming Jordan Groshans off waivers from the Miami Marlins.

Groshans, a former top prospect, was initially selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, showcasing his potential early in his career.

Groshans was the 12th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft and was the Blue Jays No. 3 prospect in 2022.

His journey through the minors and a brief stint with the Marlins highlighted his promise and skill set, which the Yankees have now decided to invest in.

The 24-year-old has played just 17 games in the MLB, posting a .262/.308/.311 triple-slash line, with a home run, two RBIs, and nine runs scored in 2022 with the Marlins.

Last season, in the minors, he held a .243/.339/.330 triple-slash line, with six home runs, 60 RBIs, and 60 runs scored over 125 games played.
