Tampa Bay Rays Star Expected To Miss The Remainder Of 2023

The Tampa Bay Rays have been one of baseball's best teams in 2023, and as we approach playoff time, they'll be finally looking to take that one last big leap towards the World Series after coming up short over the past few years.

Unfortunately, they've slowed down in recent times due to injury, and on Tuesday, it was confirmed that star starter Shane McClanahan is 'highly unlikely' to pitch again in 2023 after suffering a left forearm injury, which could result in surgery for the All-Star.

This is a tough break for the Rays and McClanahan, who has been off to a tremendous start in 2023, posting an 11-2 record with a 3.29 ERA and 121 strikeouts through 115 innings of work, but with a deep rotation, they'll be hoping for a deep playoff push regardless.
