Baltimore Orioles Rumors: Detroit Tigers Ace On Team's Radar

The Baltimore Orioles are having a strong season, sporting a 35-21 record. With this hot start, they are looking like a legitimate playoff team and should be buyers at the trade deadline because of it. One area that the Orioles should be focusing on is their rotation, and they are already considering their options. One starter on their radar is Detroit Tigers ace Eduardo Rodriguez.

Rodriguez has been simply excellent for the Tigers this season, and his statistics effectively display this. In 11 appearances on the campaign, the 6-foot-2 lefty has a 4-4 record to go along with a 2.13 ERA. He is on pace to have the best season of his career, and he is exactly the kind of pitcher that the Orioles could use because of it.

Rodriguez was recently put on the 15-day injured list with a finger injury, but at the time of this writing, it is not expected to be a long-term issue. Therefore, once he fully recovers, we should look for the Orioles to make a major push for him. It will be intriguing to see if they can successfully acquire him from here.
