Oakland Athletics DFA Veteran Reliever

The Oakland Athletics have arguably the worst product in all of baseball right now, with an owner that doesn't want to put money into the team and uncertainty over the future of the organization, so it's safe to say that things are getting ugly.

One of the worst parts of this team has been the back end of their bullpen, with veteran Jeurys Familia being responsible in plenty of high leverage situations, and unfortunately, he's just failed to live up to any former glory in 2023.

DFA'D: #Athletics have designated RHP Jeurys Familia and RHP Domingo Acevedo for assignment.

Familia was once an elite closer in the game with the New York Mets, but since that point due to his deterioration on the field and issues away from it, it appears that unless something changes, his career could be drawing to a close.
