Colorado Rockies Sign Struggling Veteran Pitcher

The Colorado Rockies are off to yet another slow start in 2023, and as such, it comes as no surprise that they're looking for anything to jump-start their campaign, and on Sunday, that brought them to signing a struggling veteran pitcher.

That pitcher would be Luis Cessa, who has struggled in a big way over the past two years, posting an ERA of 9.00 over 26 innings for the Cincinnati Reds this season, allowing 46 hits over that time in a hitter friendly park in Cincinnati.

The best season of Cessa's career came in 2021 when he pitched for Toronto, New York and Cincinnati, ending the year with a combined ERA under 2.60, so right now, Colorado will be hoping that's the player they are getting, rather than the player we've seen through six starts this year.
