Toronto Blue Jays Claim Outfielder Off Waivers

The Toronto Blue Jays have added outfielder Jordan Luplow to their organization by claiming him off waivers from the Atlanta Braves.

Luplow was designated for assignment by the Braves before being released from his major league contract, allowing the Blue Jays to claim him.

He will begin his tenure in the Toronto system with their Triple-A affiliate in Buffalo.

The Blue Jays may consider promoting Luplow to the major league roster in the future, as he provides an additional left-handed option and has a history of success against left-handed pitching.

Over his six-year career, the 29-year-old has recorded a .213/.313/.432 triple-slash line, with 45 home runs, 120 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, and 121 runs scored across 322 games.

Luplow has spent time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Guardians, Tampa Bay Rays, Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Braves over his career.

Overall, Luplow's acquisition could prove to be a valuable move for the Blue Jays later in the season. Photo Credit: Robert Edwards-USA TODAY Sports
