Detroit Tigers All-Star Outfielder Placed On IL

Detroit Tigers outfielder Austin Meadows has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to anxiety.

Meadows has appeared in six games this season for the Tigers, where he has zero home runs, two RBIs, and a .238 batting average. The one-time All-Star is a notable part of the Tigers' roster, so they will miss him while he's out. However, it is also far more important for him to receive help for his anxiety, so this decision to sit out is one that should be respected.

We here at BaseballRumors.me hope that Meadows gets the help that he needs and can return to the field soon.

In response to this IL placement, the Tigers have called up Akil Baddoo to their major league roster. The 6-foot-1 outfielder has appeared in 197 career MLB games over two seasons as a Tiger, where he has 15 home runs, 64 RBIs, and a .241 batting average. He will be aiming to impress during this latest call-up, as it could open the door for him to stick around in the majors from here.
