VIDEO: Netherlands Pitcher Wows Crowd With ABSURD Frisbee Sliders At WBC

Netherlands pitcher Franklin Van Gurp caught the attention of the baseball world on Wednesday with the display of his ridiculous frisbee sliders against Panama.

The pitch is literally unhittable.

Gurp went on to throw a scoreless eighth inning in the Netherlands' 3-1 victory, as they improved to 2-0 on the tournament.

The San Diego Padres acquired RHP Van Gurp from the San Francisco Giants for OF Alex Dickerson back in 2019, however, they released him in 2021.

Soon after, he was signed by the Seattle Mariners, who also released him later.

He is now a free agent.

Van Gurp is a former 25th-round pick by the Giants in the 2017 MLB Draft out of Florida International University.

For his minor-league career, the 27-year-old holds an underwhelming 4.02 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, with 250 strikeouts over 192.2 innings of work.

The strikeouts are there, however, Van Gurp has struggled to keep runs off the board in his career.

That being said, there will now certainly be some teams keeping an eye on Van Gurp throughout the World Baseball Classic and after.
