Seattle Mariners Sign Right-Handed Pitcher

Just a week after being released by the Minnesota Twins, the Seattle Mariners are adding right-handed pitcher Nolan Blackwood to their organization signing him to a minor-league contract

Blackwood, who previously played for the Detroit Tigers, had a decent performance in 2022 with a 3.81 ERA and a 38 strikeouts over 49.2 innings at the Triple-A level.

Although the 28-year-old has not yet had his chance to pitch in the major-leagues, he will provide upper-level depth for the Mariners, as he aims to earn a spot on the team and make his MLB debut.

For his minor-league career, Blackwood holds a 3.67 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, with 281 strikeouts across 323.2 innings of work and 232 appearances.
