Philadelphia Phillies: 2 Breakout Candidates for 2023

The Philadelphia Phillies are viewed as legitimate contenders for the 2023 season. Although they have a strong roster full of veterans, they also possess some young players who should be viewed as breakout candidates. Let's go over them now.

Alec Bohm: Alec Bohm had a solid 2022 season, as he set new career highs with 13 home runs and 72 RBIs in 152 games. With that, he hit for contact well, as he sported a .280 batting average. However, when noting that he has immense potential, one has to wonder if he can cement himself as a legitimate star for the Phillies this season. He is treading in the right direction, so look for a major breakout campaign from the 2018 first-round pick.

Bryson Stott: Bryson Stott is another young Phillie that should be watched in 2023. He is coming off an okay rookie campaign, as he had 10 home runs, 49 RBIs, and a .234 batting average. Yet, as he continues to get more experience in the sport's most competitive league, we should see his average go up this year. The potential of him becoming a high-impact infielder is there, so let's see if breaks out this campaign.
