Injury Update On Philadelphia Phillies Bryce Harper

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper has reported to the team's spring training complex and is set to undergo a physical after undergoing Tommy John surgery in November.

While he is expected to return as the team's designated hitter right around the All-Star break, Harper said on Thursday that he misses playing right field and is uncertain whether he'll be able to play on defense this season.

The initial timetable projected Harper to hopefully return to playing in the outfield in the second half of the season, but it's not a sure thing.

Harper is waiting for the results of his physical to have a better idea on a timeline for his return to the Phillies' lineup and his potential availability in the outfield.

The 30-year-old is coming off yet another great season, despite playing through injury for most of the season, slashing .286/.364/.514, with 18 home runs, 65 RBIs, 11 stolen bases and 63 runs scored over 99 games played.
