Colorado Rockies Sign Veteran Outfielder

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Colorado Rockies have signed Jurickson Profar for the 2023 season. With that, he is guaranteed $7.75 million, but it will go up to $8.75 million if he reaches 400 plate appearances.

Profar was the top free agent still available, and interest in his services was starting to increase with Opening Day right around the corner. Now, the 30-year-old has found his new home with the Rockies, and he will be aiming to have a big year because of it.

Profar provides the Rockies with more versatility, as he can play the outfield, second base, and shortstop. As a result of this, he should have zero trouble getting playing time with the Rockies.

In 152 games this past season with the San Diego Padres, Profar had 15 home runs, 58 RBIs, and a .243 batting average. We will now need to wait and see how he performs for the Rockies from here.
