Cincinnati Reds Rumors: Infielder Linked to Boston Red Sox

The Cincinnati Reds have several excellent middle infield prospects in their system, and there have been rumblings that they are open to trading 2021 NL Rookie of the Year Jonathan India because of it. Now, India is starting to garner interest from a specific team, as the Boston Red Sox have him on their radar.

It is not too surprising that the Red Sox are at least considering the prospect of making a push for India. After all, their middle infield could use a notable boost after losing Xander Bogaerts through free agency and Trevor Story out long term. Therefore, there is a match between India and the Red Sox on paper.

The Red Sox have the prospect pool to send a good enough offer to acquire India, so this is something to pay attention to during the season. Alas, we will need to wait and see if Boston's interest in the 26-year-old leads to a trade from here.

In 103 games last season, India had 10 home runs, 41 RBIs, and a .249 batting average.
