Toronto Blue Jays Pitcher Designated for Assignment

The Toronto Blue Jays have made a change to their 40-man roster, as Matt Gage has been designated for assignment.

The Blue Jays needed to clear up a roster spot for the recent-signing Chad Green, so Gage became expendable. Now, Toronto will have until the end of the week to either trade Gage or simply place him on waivers.

Gage made his MLB debut for the Blue Jays this season and was quite effective in the process. In 11 games, he sported a very solid 1.38 ERA, so it is clear that he was reliable when called upon. Due to this, it would not be surprising to see another team bring him in from here. Alas, we will need to wait and see what happens on that front.
