Seattle Mariners Sign Pitcher

The Seattle Mariners have added to their pitching depth, as they have signed Ian Clarkin to a minor league deal.

Perhaps what is most intriguing about Clarkin is that he was selected right after New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge during the 2013 MLB draft by the Yankees. However, Clarkin was not a home run pick for the Yankees like Judge, as he has yet to appear in a single major league game since being drafted.

Yet, perhaps that could change in 2023 with the Mariners organization if he has a better year. In 21 games split between the Colorado Rockies Double-A and Triple-A affiliates in 2023, he had a 3-7 record to go along with a 7.86 ERA. Overall, it was a year to forget for him, but let's see if he can bounce back from here.
