Philadelphia Phillies Sign Right-Handed Pitcher

Headed to Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Phillies have signed pitcher Max Kuhns to a minor-league contract.

Kuhns has spent the last two seasons pitching for the Sioux City Explorers of the independent American Association after spending the previous four years in the New York Mets' minor-league system.

For his minor-league career, the twenty-eight-year-old holds a decent 3.56 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts over 48 innings of work. He's made five starts, 31 relief appearances and holds a 1-2 record.

Kuhns has yet to pitch above the High-A level, however, the Phillies clearly see something they like in him and are willing to give him an opportunity to prove them right.

He is a former 21st-round pick by the Mets in the 2016 MLB Draft.
