New York Yankees Sign Pitcher

The New York Yankees continue to add to their pitching depth.

The Yankees have signed pitcher Justin Maese to a minor-league contract.

Maese is a former third-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2015 MLB Draft, but has yet to make his major-league debut.

Last season, with the Atlanta Braves' Double-A affiliate, Maese posted a 4.70 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and 69 strikeouts over 53.2 innings of work. He made 50 relief appearances, converted 11 saves and held a 2-6 record.

The twenty-six-year-old adds some minor-league pitching depth for the Yankees.

For his minor-league career, Maese has compiled a solid 3.89 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 288 strikeouts over 309.2 innings.
