Miami Marlins Release Four Players


The Miami Marlins have trimmed their roster, releasing four players.

The Marlins have released the following players: 

  • RHP Arquimedes Cumana
Cumana holds a .256/.370/.706 triple-slash line in the minors. The twenty-two-year-old has hit two home runs, 51 RBIs, five stolen bases and 41 runs scored 336 at-bats.
  • RHP Oscar Araba
Araba holds a 6.00 ERA, 2.67 WHIP, and three strikeouts over just three innings in the minors. The twenty-year-old has made just three relief appearances.
  • LHP Alan Ramirez
Ramirez holds a 4.42 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 95 strikeouts across 73.1 innings of work in the minors. The twenty-three-year-old has started 11 games, made 19 relief appearances, converted one save and holds a 3-5 record.
  • 1B Marcus Chiu
Chiu holds a .232/.339/.742 triple-slash line, with 46 home runs, 177 RBIs, 25 stolen bases and 205 runs scored over 1,305 at-bats in the minors. The twenty-five-year-old is a former 15th-round pick by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 MLB Draft. Photo Credit: Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports
