Mets Outfielder Goes Unclaimed On Waivers; Under Investigation By MLB

Well, this isn't a surprise.

New York Mets outfielder Khalil Lee has been sent outright to Triple-A Syracuse after he went unclaimed on waivers.

Lee is currently under investigation by Major League Baseball from a lawsuit that accuses him of assault last year in Syracuse, New York.

He's no longer on the Mets' 40-man roster. He was originally designated for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Sam Coonrod.

The twenty-four-year-old has played just 13 games in the majors. For his minor-league career, he holds a .251/.373/.787 triple-slash line, with 61 home runs, 268 RBIs, 120 stolen bases and 365 runs scored over 2,125 at-bats.

Lee is a former third-round pick by the Kansas City Royals in the 2016 MLB Draft.
