Baltimore Orioles Top Prospect Taking Reps At Two Infield Positions

Expanding his versatility.

Baltimore Orioles top prospect Gunnar Henderson told reporters on Friday that he'll take defensive reps at shortstop and third base this spring training.

Henderson played more shortstop than third base in the minors before being used at third base more during his late-season call-up by the Orioles last year.

Henderson also noted that he's ready to play wherever the Orioles need him to.

The twenty-one-year-old is regarded as one of the best prospects in all of baseball and will assuredly be on the Orioles' Opening Day roster.

Henderson looked very impressive in his first taste of major-league action last year, posting a .259/.348/.440 triple-slash line, with four home runs, 18 RBIs, one stolen base and 12 runs scored over 34 games.

With Jorge Mateo moving into a utility role, Henderson could see time at both positions this season.
